Intel Modular Server là hệ thống máy chủ cao cấp của INTEL tung ra trên thị trường sản phẩm máy chủ - hệ thống nay.

Thực sự chuyên dụng cho các giải pháp web hosting, hospital database và đặc biệt là cho các giải pháp media rendering.

Intel Modular Server (A) bao gồm

Máy chủ (B) : máy chủ dạng phiến mỏng nhỏ gọn có thể cắm đến 2 bộ vi xử lý 2 nhân hoặc 4 nhân từ series 50xx cho đến series 55xx – mỗi chassis bao gồm 6 máy chủ - các chassis có thể tích hợp với nhau để tạo thành các cụm máy chủ cho các Datacenter.

Card mạng : mỗi máy chủ hỗ trợ 4 card mạng Gigabit Ethernet (full duplex) cho phép người sử dụng cấu hình các chế độ hỗ trợ TEAMING hoặc LOAD BALANCING,.... một các dễ dàng nhằm tăng tốc truy cập hệ thống mạng nội bộ/ mạng Internet

Bộ nhớ : mỗi máy chủ hỗ trợ max 4 card mạng Gigabit Ethernet hỗ trợ 2 chuẩn bộ nhớ FBDIMM hoặc DDR3 ECC cho phép thiết lập các chế độ Memmory Mirroring hoặc Memmory Sparing

Đĩa cứng (C&D): bao gồm từ 6 đến 14 đĩa cứng chuẩn SATA/SAS cho phép cấu hình các chuẩn RAID 0,1,5,6 cho đến 10,50,60 – tăng tối đa khả năng bảo vệ dữ liệu trong tất cả các trường hợp

Hệ thống giải nhiệt (E&F) : hệ thống 3 quạt giải nhiệt hotswap giúp hệ thống luôn mát và chạy ổn định

RAID card (H): hệ thống được trang bị 2 card RAID hotswap nhằm hỗ trợ Dual RAID cho 14 ổ cứng 2.5 inch hoặc 6 ổ cứng 3.5 inch – chính vì vậy mà hệ thống này được đáng giá cao về khả năng an toàn dữ liệu (database reliability/hospital database)

Management (I): hệ thống KVM hotswap card được tích hợp vào hệ thống này với giao diện Web Interface giúp quản trị mạng dễ dàng nâng cấp BIOS, cập nhật FIRMWARE, kể cả cấu hìng RAID, ... chỉ cần vài cú click chuột

Network (J): với 2 Network Controllers Switch hotswap và mỗi Switch có 10 ports Gigabit Ethernet.... . cho phép hệ thống có khả năng TEAMING 10 ports thành 10Gigabit trên từng Switch – điều này rất hữu ích cho các hệ thống Web Hosting

OS : hỗ trợ rất nhiều hệ điều hành mới nhất trên thị trường như Microsoft Windows* Server 2008, Red Hat Enterprise Linux* AS 5.0, Suse Linux* Enterprise Server 10...

Power Supply (G): với hệ thống 4 nguồn hotswap cho phép hệ thống liên tục vận hành ngay cả khi 1 trong các bộ nguồn bị hư hỏng và thời gian để thay thế tối đa tính bằng phút vì chỉ cần rút nguồn hư ra và thay nguồn mới vào – đó chính là hotswap - Vì thế hệ thống Intel Modular Server này còn được gọi là giải pháp máy chủ Intel hotswap dành cho Web Hosting, Hospital Database và Media Rendering.
